October Check-In Writing Goals

October Check-In Writing Goals

2019 has been a year of big changes for me.  We moved into a house and I got a new job.  These life changes have made it somewhat difficult to write.  When you have the soul of a writer, you need to write or you feel lost.  After all the craziness of the move and getting used to working outside of my home was all settled, I got back to writing.  It has been over six months, no wonder I feel so out of it.  I came up with making these goals to keep track of my writing.  I wanted to see how much I was writing.  It’s always a good idea to set goals, even if you don’t accomplish them.

I set these goals low because of all the changes that are going on in my life right now.  I started a new job and was not sure what hours I would be working.  And, I do not have a routine down for all of my housework.  But, all that will come in time.  I am happy to say; I have done a lot more writing this month than I had done all year.

My Writing Goals For October

My writing goals for my novels and ebooks are different. I have several of these projects going on and they are all in different stages. The goal for these projects is to give each of them some time each month.

I wrote out two detailed outlines for books; I want to work on next year.  Early in the month I started working on a book I have wanted to write for over ten years.  I wrote a chapter for it.  One other book I have been working on, I got a few pages written for.  Last, my poetry book is in the final draft and I have been researching Amazon, so I can publish it soon.  Hoping for that to be out next year sometime.

My Writing Goals For My Blogs

1) Add more content to at least one article on each blog

I really need to look over both blogs as things on Blogger have changed again.  No, I can’t say that I got this goal done.  It will have to wait.

2) Post at least one article to each blog

Yes, I posted at least one post to each of my blogs.  The writing blog, I got two posts in.  The Spiritual Mystic is my main blog.  I wanted to post each week, but that did not happen.  I had time to post three articles this month.

3) Read and share at least ten other writers’ articles

I do this more often than I thought.  There are a few authors that I follow.  I try to read most of what they post and share their articles.  Yes, I shared much over ten.

Progress on Other Writing Projects

I few years back, I got the idea to make dream journals and sell them on Amazon.  These took a lot of work, but I finally started making and selling the dream journals this month.  The dream journals were my big project for October.  I wanted to have at least 30 of them ready before the holidays.  Yes, I got this done.  I spent over 100 hours tweaking them, getting them ready.  I am happy to say they are up and ready for me to sell.

I have decided, to go back to freelance writing.  I have filled out paperwork for three companies.  I am hoping to get back into my one true love and making a living from it.  I should know for sure what will happen around my Birthday November 20th.  What I great Birthday present it will be.  To work from home again.

November is National Novel Writing Month.  I have one big goal for November and that is to write over 50,000 words.  I have not decided, yet, what I will work on.  I am waiting to find out about the three freelance writing jobs. I will know for sure after that.   Wish me Luck!!
